Volunteers

P.A.L.S. has about seventy five trained and caring volunteers to back up the work of the dedicated nurses. They are requested to contribute a minimum of 50 hours of service annually. Many of the volunteers are assigned to individual patients as their ‘PAL’. Volunteers visit their patients regularly, offering friendship and provide invaluable moral support. They also provide a variety of other support services, including transportation for medical appointments or assisting with the patient’s domestic needs.

Volunteers assist with P.A.L.S. many fund-raising activities held throughout the year and are encouraged to attend as many monthly educational meetings as possible.
