Volunteering

P.A.L.S. could not survive without the support of our trained and caring volunteers to compliment the work of the staff. They are requested to contribute a minimum of 50 hours of service annually. Many of the volunteers are assigned to individual patients as their ‘PAL’. Volunteers visit their patients regularly, offering friendship and provide invaluable moral support. They also provide a variety of other support services, including transportation for medical appointments or assisting with the patient’s domestic needs.

Volunteers assist with P.A.L.S. many fund-raising activities held throughout the year and are encouraged to attend as many quarterly educational meetings as possible.

P.A.L.S. Volunteers are needed in all areas. Can you help with drives? Could you spare a couple of hours on a Saturday in May to sell tags? Can you bake or make crafts for sale at the November fair, or could you spend a few hours helping out at the fair? These are some examples of how volunteers can help in different ways.

Support P.A.L.S. regular fund raising events

P.A.L.S. Sponsored Walk is held annually in February. Now in our 28th year we are introducing a change in format; the walk will begin and end at P.A.L.S. Headquarters. Walk with us in 2016 sponsored by Clarien and Colonial.

Help sell tags on P.A.L.S. Tag Day held in May at many locations island-wide.

Participate in MAD HAIR DAY and join in the fun at the evening MAD HAIR PARTY!

P.A.L.S. Annual Fair in November. Help to man one of the many stalls: books, jewellery, white and golden elephant, baked goods, plants and much more. Help sell raffle tickets for many wonderful prizes.

Help man one of P.A.L.S. Memorial Trees of Remembrance in December in the Washington Mall and the Bank of N.T. Butterfield. Cards and decorations are provided free of charge.
